If you’re looking at buying chicken, fish or mutton online, I would still recommend Licious in 2024. While the lockdown is over, the ease of Licious makes it impossible for us to go out and shop for meat anymore.
In our household, non-vegetarian food is a necessity! We’ve been using Licious for the last couple of years, and I would recommend it highly over other competitors (Fresh To Home, BigBasket, etc) in Bangalore. However, if you’re looking for the best cuts (especially like mutton) please go to the store and tell the butcher want you want.
What is Licious?
Licious is a platform to buy meat online. They are available on the web as well as on your phones as an app. I use the app on my iPhone and it is very intuitive and user-friendly. Generally, if you place an order in the morning, it will be delivered in 4-6 hours. The items come delivered in a cardboard box with each item sealed hygienically in individual plastic packets. The meat is fresh and not frozen. You need to either keep it immediately in the fridge and consume within the next couple of days, or you can freeze it if you want to use it later (read below). If you’re like me and get freaked out by the smell of butcher shops, Licious is definitely for you.
Can I freeze meat?
Oh yes, you can! I generally order 3-4 items from Licious at a time and freeze in halves. Since the Licious packaging is generally very good, I don’t take it out, I just try and split the item into 2 sections before freezing it. And then, when I want, say half a packet of minced chicken, I just cut half of the packet and leave the remaining 250 grams in the fridge.
What type of meats are available?
You can buy chicken online as well as fish, prawns, mutton, lamb and eggs available. It also has some ready to cook meats (kebabs, etc) and cold cuts available. It does not have any pork or beef items. (I really do wish it had pork sausages and ham available).
What I like about Licious?
– Fresh: The meat is absolutely fresh when it is delivered. In the last 2-3 years, I have had no issues with the quality of freshness at Licious.
– Hygienically packed: All items come hygienically packed. It makes it very easy to store the meat or freeze it.
– Great quality: The items are of great quality, especially the fish and prawns.
– Cheerful delivery guys: All the delivery guys are very cheerful and helpful.
– Cashbacks: If you order regularly, you get quite a lot of cashbacks. This makes expensive products more affordable.
– Licious eggs: If you’re looking at reasonably priced brown eggs, Licious is the way to go. Priced at Rs 60 for 6 eggs, its much more reasonable than Keggs or Farm Fresh Eggs.
What I do not like about Licious?
– Quality of Chicken & Mutton Cuts: I’ve stopped ordering chicken cuts from Licious because the quality has just been terrible: all bone, very little meat. This is true for their curry cuts, biryani cuts, and even items like chicken thighs. I still order chicken breast, minced meat and chicken tenders.
– Availability of Fillets: Filleted fish is really hard to find on Licious most of the time. This makes it difficult to cook fried fish (English style).
– Delivery Times: Licious does take time to deliver, generally 4-6 hours. So if you want your meat NOW, it won’t be possible.
– Availability: The fish items are generally not always available. This is because fish is seasonal, but sometimes, even when fish is in season, it won’t be available on Licious.
– Lamb and Mutton: In my experience, the quality of lamb and mutton isn’t as good as your local shop. Also because you can’t specify the exact cut you want. The meat is sometimes quite tough.
Is online meat delivery more expensive than your local meat shop?
Yes, most likely. But the quality is great and its much easier to order. My mom-in-law loved the quality of prawns.

never ever order anything from licious. such a worst service they have. i ordered raw chicken which was showing delivery time between 12 to 2 pm slot but till 2.30 its not got deliver and on app they had updated that material got delivered sharp at 1.57. such a worst service they have !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. please please don’t try this better go to nearest shop and buy the things.

bad experience with executive by name called Mahadev who has absolutely rude and no patience basic mannerism and plus refused to give my order too…
However I escalated to customer support and support team mentioned will arrange the order to deliver from afternoon 2Pm to till 7Pm I did not get my order, Not sure how well the Licious will take action against the executive guy but lesson learnt ..

How come they are still in business??? Ordered at 5:15 pm. Never got the order. No reply to my email. Call centre number didn’t work. And they never even called back. Took my money. That’s all. I’m gonna find the owner…
We ordered meat today vide order no 4zzebuodtzok – our experience is pathetic, the product was full of fat and the pieces were huge. Seems like the delivery team has forgotten to cut the pieces and remove the fat.
Time for Licious to up the game else will have to wind up the shop soon.

Same with me their services suck in Delhi too after 3 hours they call me and ask for the address and home directions. I cancelled the order he did not bother to say sorry and from last 3 days I am trying to seek refund they are playing ping pong with me. They have lost their level as they have outsourced the delivery to people who do not understand the business and since Licious has received investment they are taking the business for granted. Their call center is even pathetic including the manager so called he does not know how he should handle service recovery. Against my order they try to bribe me with complimentary chicken spread which is one of their worst items. In pass too they have done the same and call center does not even keeps records of these reports.

Till date Lucious didn’t confirm if they are supplying Halal meat and chicken.I stopped buying from them.I received call from them asking why iam not placing order since long time.I mentioned the rason that till date they haven’t confirmed yet if the meat and chicken they are supplying is Halal.
If they do not confirm if it is Halal or not it means it is not Halal. Stop purchasing from them altogether. They are cheating and hurting religious sentiments. Try Fresh to Home instead. Superb App. And Halal too.

Horrible service from Luscious. They never delivered on time. They takes three to five hours to deliver your order. Pathetic service and no improvement commitment.

Pathetic service. At last moment, they will called me and said “Your address is wrong”. When I asked what is my address in your system? ” . The said address was exactly right. Then they gave various shitty reasons and start apolizing. They will reorder the order for different time or next available slot. Fianlly I stopped using licious.
Very pathetic service and attitude of the people , Shipment ID kpdr9dzs was never delivered to me and the app showed it is delivered , when called callcentre they kept talking for 24 mins and still saying it is delivered, asked to check with family members for thrice and with security twice, letter said our hub will give solution. no solution was reached and matter kept hanging.
Worst company. Delayed my order by 1 day. Customer care does not pick call and when tried through mail received a message “we will assist you in 24 hours”. Who on earth waits for 24 hours for a simple stuff which can be bought easily in nearby shop. I will never order again and curse this stupid company vanish from market.

Licious will lure you with offers and discounts and also make a hundred phone calls requesting to place an order. However once an order is placed the promises disappear. They were unable to deliver even though the order was placed 2 days ago!

At one point in time it used to be the go to place for ordering clean and fresh meat with delivery on point. Over the years it has gone from bad to worse. Everytime you raise a concern, the usual apologies and promise not to repeat this ever again happens. When you speak to the delivery guy expressing your concern about delivery or quality of meat, the simple answer is “we don’t understand Hindi” which means that Licious expects me to learn Telugu if I need to order and interact with their staff. Who hires their staff and what is the language criteria. I usually select the cash on delivery which is usually disabled and hence I opt for pay online on delivery. In the name of Covid, they have disabled the pay on delivery option too. How on earth do you explain that logic? Whenever you have not paid, expect the order to reach you in decent time. However, if the payment is already made, the order takes 3 hours to reach for a distance of 1.5 kms from my residence. This review is after multiple such instances. I approved the entry of the licious staff at 4:33PM and the order did not arrive until 6:55PM for an order that was placed on 3:10PM. I called the delivery guy and he was rude and mentioned that he would not be here until 7:00PM he spoke in plain Hindi. I called up customer care and had to wait for 4 minutes and 30 seconds before someone answered and did the usual scripted apologies. I promised I would never ever shop with Licious and this was the end and wanted a refund. He (karthik) tried to sugar talk me into accepting his apology which they never mean. Finally he agreed to cancel the order and issue a refund within 24-48 hours. This discussion has happened around 6:00PM and the delivery boy very “innocently” walks with the package after almost 4 hours of placing the order mentioning he is not aware that the package is cancelled. What technology systems do they use when one hand does not speak to another. When I tell the delivery boy that he was rude and impolite when i spoke to him on the phone, he says he does not understand Hindi…end of my shopping forever with Licious. It is a scam company with no concern whatsoever for customer.
I guess the Licious team has a good strategy. They take order using your credit card and Reject the order later and credit back that amount to Licious Wallet. My order has been rejected 3 times after the Customer care executive apologized and requested me to order again and it will not be repeated. I was fooled 2 times 🙂

I am happy with the timely delivery of the chicken breasts that I ordered today. The last time I ordered the meat was good but delivery went beyond the time slot. Happy that Licious took care to deliver on time, this time. Will continue to be a customer.

Horrible service from Luscious. Had ordered at 12:15pm with an expected delivery time of 90 minutes . the order did not come till 6:45pm (390 minutes ) and never arrived. Had followed up multiple times with their customer care executives ,but they did not help- nor did the courtesy follow up. Their website kept delaying order for every 10 minutes .Horrible experience. These guys are simply not professional and not worth the time / effort.
Wish there was zero star available. Absolutely useless app. Customer support and service is pathetic. There is no guarantee that your order will be delivered. Better not to trust. It’s better we purchase meat ourselves.
I Installed the app and just read about it. Its only deliver halal meat. Very disappointing. What about hindu majority? I request my hindu community please uninstall this app asap.
Boneless chicken is good even though overpriced. Other chicken products are overpriced and flesh from pieces are removed. Only buy, if you are looking for boneless chicken.

I ordered meat for slot 9-12 and i dint get it even after 12.30. Such a lousy customer service. This is the last time im ordering in licious. Done with them
