If you’re looking to rent furniture in Bangalore, say hello to Furlenco! Furniture shopping should never, ever happen in a rush (especially if you are shopping for furniture online). A few months ago, we were expecting Mr T’s parents and grandmother to visit within the coming 10 days. And our new home was lacking in respectable (adult) furniture.
In our 9 months of marriage, we had happily gotten accustomed to having a cardboard box as a centre table, a sofa-cum-bed and two low chairs as our sofa set. But with the parents visiting, we needed to change and change fast! Hence, we said hello to Furlenco, home to furniture rentals in Bangalore and Mumbai.
We went shopping online and offline, stopping by at the Pepperfry Studio, Home Centre, and several other places. To our shock and dismay, everything online and offline would take a minimum of 2-4 weeks to deliver. WTF? Who can wait that long for furniture?
We were getting desperate and so went where no normal person dares to go — to the land of furniture rental! Sounds icky and gross when you first hear about it, right? But Furlenco makes it much less so.
What is Furlenco?
Furlenco is a service offered in Bangalore & Mumbai by which you can rent furniture (sofas, tables, beds, lamps and even appliances) on a monthly basis. Their website offers limited looks, which you can order and have delivered at home at no extra cost.
Our Furlenco Experience
To be honest, our delivery experience was quite abysmal. We checked the Furlenco.com website and saw a couple of designs we liked. However, their ready-made package wasn’t exactly what we wanted so we spoke to them and got exactly what we wanted for around Rs 2000 a month.
Delivery was prompt but disastrous. The sofa set we ordered was not delivered, but a ghastly brown sofa showed up instead (which was quite stinky — strong cardboard smell). We got two lamps instead of one and even a couple of side tables for no reason. The delivery team of Furlenco was extremely responsive and courteous and they said they would get it sorted out immediately.
When they did get it sorted out, they realised that what we ordered was no longer in stock and we would have to wait a week. Well, the parents saw the ghastly brown sofa and left and we waited for the correct sofa to show up.
A week later, the supposedly correct sofa showed up in a nice Furlenco van. The boys carried the sofa up the stairs (slightly damaging the wall) only to realise it was again the wrong sofa.
It finally took another trip for the correct sofa to show up. And since then, the experience has been smooth!
Furlenco for those with a keen eye
If you are looking to do up your room beautifully and our particular about small things, then Furlenco may not be the best bet for you. Most of the furniture that they deliver is not exactly the same as on their website, but somewhat similar. Even though there are two ranges (Pico & Milli), there are variations within these ranges.
The soft furnishings (like cushions) are all from Home Centre and often don’t fit appropriately with the set (our rug was much too tiny for the room — it’s lying in a cupboard). The lamp is a little wonky (the shade can never sit accurately).
Who is Furlenco targeting?
Well, my guess is most likely bachelors who are starting off their careers (with little time or interest in furnishing their homes), people who have newly shifted into the city, students, and those desperate for quick furniture!
Is renting furniture hygienic?
This was our major concern when renting furniture. All furniture delivered by Furlenco is packed either in cling-film (refurbished) or cardboard (new pieces). The Furlenco guys told us that when a piece of furniture is returned to them, the fabric is removed and dry cleaned before being put back together.

At the end of your tenure, once we receive the furniture back at our warehouse, we strictly refurbish and repair the furniture before it is sent to any other customer. Our refurbishment process includes UV sterilization of the wood, sandpapering and polishing of every wooden furniture, sanitization and UV cleaning of the mattresses and other soft upholstered parts of the furniture, HEPA filtration to extract allergens and dust particles, foam shampoo and cleaning of couch and anti-dust mite spraying on the wood to save it from termites.
The soft-furnishings like cushion covers and rugs need not be returned.
Overall Review of Furlenco
Furlenco is great for those looking for a quick-fix cheap solution to furniture; they are currently in Bangalore and Mumbai and are doing a decent job.
Never rent from Furlenco, am supposed to move to a new city and take up a new offer however am not able to because these good for nothing company doesn’t pick up the furnitures, my pickup has been reschduled 4 times now and what do I tell the new organization that am supposed to join!!
Furlenco is a criminal organization. They will make your life hell and do anything they can to take more and more money from you, even after you have returned all the furniture. I cannot stress enough – DO NOT HIRE FURLENCO
I rented some furniture with Furlenco for some 6 months and then i had to discontinue and asked them to terminate my contract. They did and pickup was scheduled in March. But then lockdown started and i had moved to my other flat. I called them to notify about this and they said it will be taken care of after a huge discussion. Then after the lockdown, they call me suddenly and ask for furniture pickup. I agreed and asked someone to go to that flat to make sure they can pickup. And after that pickup, the horror started. First they never paid me my security back. Then they charged me for all those months of lockdown even after the contract was terminated. And then they are still spamming me everyday with emails and text messages to pay some dues rather than paying me back my deposit. This is a thug company. Stay out of it. They will overcharge you when you don’t see it coming and they will spam you to death. Worst experience!
Also i had furniture and some other items from Rentonmojo and Renticle. They worked with me to sort things out instead of being frauds like furlenco.

Forced to pay bills in spite of repeated requests for cancellation,

Worst service ..they are misusing lockdown and earning money out of it ..pickup was scheduled for March nd as lockdown started they are asking me to pay money . After lots of calls what they are saying is they will give 20% off which is the late payment fees they have added.Iam not using still they are asking me to pay. Not at all happy with service, though I have sent many emails and explained about my problem over the call your team is not understanding. Keep me charging when I’m not using your products due to lockdown. If possible, pause it n charge only when I’m using, else I can help you guys to pick up the product by telling our owner. You do that at least, I don’t want to pay when I’m not using it.
1. They won’t take return on time and charring you one-month extra bill.
2. They won’t refund your deposits as they would say multiple reasons like products damaged and maintenance charges
3. No proper response from customer care when you ask for termination
4. Misleading pricing… They never mention that you need to subscribe for at least 3 months… And the process of closing the subscription was also a pain.
5. Never trust Furlenco.
FURLENCO IS THE WORST WHEN IT COMES TO COUSTOMER CARE
Disgusting customer care, which has no accountability n can only lead to the harassment of its customer.
After one n a half year of renting when I finally ended the subscription, the pickup agents who were scheduled to pickup the furniture didn’t turn up on the scheduled date because of his personal problem. After a lot of hit n miss a final date was decided after a delay of a month n all because the pickup agent wanted to come at his own cinvinient time which was clashing with ours. Finally during the pickup he broke my wifi router while transporting the furniture. All this happened n the so called customer care was duly informed about the same.
Till date which is almost 3 months I am following up with them to settle my account n instead to refunding my security deposit n compensation of the broken router they are forcing me n harassing to pay off n entire months rent. Everytime I call them they will make me repeat the whole ordeal n give excuses regarding the case. False promises to getting back with a solution enrytime.
In fact I told them that I do not wish to get any claims of security deposit n compensation just to finish this case. To which they positively replied to wave off n finish the case. But all in vein. Till date I receive calls from their harassing recovery agents.
Overall I urge people to stay away from this company if u want to save urself from this harassment
I had placed an order for my fiancée who had shifted to Pune for joining a new company. I was helping her with the accommodation and further with the furniture. While their website looks too amazing and their customer services shows to be excellent, their warehouse team is overly cheap.
1) They came 1 hour late for the delivery
2) They came with the wrong bed and said the one which we ordered is not in stock and will be getting that one in few more days.
> To make the matter worst, their warehouse delivery guys continued to use weird and disrespectful tone, which was looking highly pathetic. Their body language was completely odd too. Somehow, we both felt harassed, we were just opting for a rental furniture, we expected complete professionalism from their entire team.
Furlenco believes that by renting their furniture they own the house and they own the people whom they are renting to.
It’s a strong advise, BEWARE of FURLENCO staff. If you are getting anything delivered, please make sure there is someone at home.
One of the worst experience of my lifetime that I ever had with E Commerce companies. They are fraudsters …DO NOT USE THEM. After making the advance payment for my product I have experienced the below
Stage 1 : Constant coordination would be needed from your side so as to ensure you even get delivery of products. This would also include logistics manager calling you at 11 pm for next day delivery. So be prepared
Stage 2 : For a delivery scheduled at 2 pm someone will call you at 9 am and will state that delivery will happen in next one hour. So until and unless you have a flexible schedule or entire day devoted to your deliveries you should not be expecting your product soon.
Stage 3: Once you finally receive the product than horror starts So I have ordered for below furniture and this is their status
A: Storage Bed:
When I made the payment it was available but on delivery I was given bed with no storage and its been more than a week that I am still waiting for my replacement.
B: Infinity Wardrobe:
This wardrobe was in a bad shape. In fact even the guys delivering mentioned this is not acceptable. After 4 days replacement was scheduled only to find out they got wrong door and they claimed one more replacement would be scheduled after 4 days.
C:Dining Furniture:
I was supposed to receive replacement for broken chair for dining table package and it’s been 7 days…still waiting for that new chair.
D: Couch:
This was the worst product ever delivered. They would tell you that they have quality team which checks their product before delivery. It’s a MYTH… This couch was not even cleaned. In fact the legs for the sofa are missing and I was promised this would atleast be taken on priority but again the delivery date comes for 13 days from today…so you can imagine I am expected to sit on that couch which is broken not cleaned for next 2 weeks…
E: Washing Machine:
This product was dumped like every other furniture only to realize that it doesn’t work…In fact when I called they showed shock as to why I didn’t ask them to switch it on…my response was that we don’t have a ritual of washing clothes when people deliver furniture at my place.
So if you think you wish to be different and experience the pain which would make you trust your local vendor compare to a company which doesn’t know anything about customer service…logistics or even has a system of complains mechanism. I am stuck you don’t have to be.

Just tried renting furniture from furlenco. Worst possible experience. So, first thing, nobody called me on the scheduled delivery date. Next day is Sunday, nobody gives a shit at furlenco because its a holiday. And when i asked for the refund, because they charge you first and later inform about the delivery dates and documents, so no clear indication about refund. Plus zero help from their team when it comes to documentation. i personally had better experience renting from city furnish.
Furlenco is nothing as it features itself to be..
Firstly they claim to deliver within 72 hours which they did not. Therefore due to delay in delivery I cancelled my order. Secondly I was promised to get my deposit refund within 2-3 days which I did not again. It’s been more than a month and still no refund. Everytime I call them I only get fake promises of actioning it within 2-3 days.
Guys please beware and think twice before renting furniture from these people. They ate my money and they will eat yours as well.
Very unprofessional and thug people
from last one month I am calling to Customer care (Bangalore) from Mumbai but they do not give positive response. That is my first experience with that company but it is very bad. Poor response from customer care. I hope they will not take some other people hard earn money.
I rented sofa but that sofa was dirty and it has proI rented recline sofa for my little son, but we faced back pain problem. Once we used 4 hours that sofa, we faced back pain problem (sofa was old and unadjusted) The sofa was dirt inside (under of arm rest side lot of dirt and garbage was their) . I returned back that recline sofa next day. I am pursuing that company for money return back more than month I am calling to company and customer care but they do not responding. I wonder why I believed on furlenco.
I do not trust and suggest same to you (do not trust on furlenco).

In my experience, very bad service. Provide damaged appliances and ask for rental for damaged appliance. Delivery scheduler are worst, rude and unmannered.
Verey quick whle it comes to payment and delivery but once u call/ mail and request for return….the entire team vanishes and that piece of furniture which was a great deal initially becomes pain in ass and definitely on pocket…because they keep BILLING YOU despite of return request……………..Never using Furlenco again, will rather buy furniture and pay EMI from pepper fry or similar places and own it completely. Totally disgusting…
